We have an active fundraising committee who are always seeking new ways to raise monies in support of our various local and international projects.  See the sub menu for details of our activities and visit our 'Events' page or contact us at fundraising@readinglions.org.uk

We have raised more than 60,000 over the last five years for local and national causes. In addition we helped raise more than 70,000 for our local Air Ambulance Service and this year raised an additional 27,000 for three armed forces charities. Every penny raised is used for our community projects. Nothing is taken for administration. So how do we fund-raise?

Community Fun Day We are renowned in the area for our local Community Fun day held in June at Prospect Park.

Charity Golf Day In September each year we hold a Charity Golf day.

Heroes Dinner. Our very special 'black tie' Heroes dinner was held in November to raise funds for Help For Heroes, Combat Stress and Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund. It was a sell out and we raised 27,000 in one evening.

Robbie the Robot. We recently raised 580 collecting at the Madejski Stadium for the 'Robbie the Robot' appeal for the Royal Berkshire hospital.

Santa and his sleigh. Also at Christmas you may have seen or rather heard our Santa's Sleigh around the streets of Reading. With your help we raised more than 5,000 for community projects.

We have a catering caravan that we take to local community events. We are able to provide hot and cold drinks, burgers , bacon rolls and hot dogs. Its a great way to raise funds, have some fun and increase public awareness of Lions activities.

We cooked and sold burgers and hot dogs at a local Girl Guides Centenary Celebration held at Englefield Park and raised more than 850.00 in one evening.

We held a Chocolate Santa raffle, selling tickets at local pubs, corner shops and community centres. Our Easter Egg Raffle is also a great success.

Swim-marathon. Several of our more energetic members entered a swim-marathon (run by a neighbouring Lions Club in Maidenhead) and raised 348.00.
