A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE OF READING - YOU HELPED SANTA AND HIS SLEIGH RAISES MORE THAN £6,000 FOR LOCAL CAUSES
The Lions Christmas Sleigh returned to the streets of Reading for its annual tour to collect money for local charities. A big thank you is offered to the people of Reading as with your support we raised more than £6,000 in the days leading up to Christmas 2012. Your generous contributions will enable the Lions Club of Reading to continue to honour its pledge to support local needs, such as gift vouchers to those most needy at Christmas. The launch of the notorious Reading Lions Christmas Sleigh took place on Wednesday 28th November 2012 and we were delighted that the Mayor of Reading braved the chilly elements and joined us to formally launch Santa and his sleigh.
As well as Waitrose Ltd, Oxford Road we were also supported by the Oracle Shopping Centre and Tesco, Oxford Road. All three allowed us the opportunity to bring Santa to their stores during December.
