Latest press release: 'Fireworks back with a bang'
The members of Reading Lions Club would like to say a very big thank you to the people of Reading who supported our Fireworks Extravaganza on the 3rd November. Together we managed to raise money that can now be used for local causes and help those in need right here in our own community. The weather was kind, the crowds turned out, the firework show was brilliant and fun was had by all.
In fact it was so much fun that we may even do it all again next year!
Thanks also go to Pyrotastic Fireworks for putting on such an amazing show, to Reading Town Football Club for allowing us to use the grounds, Reading 107fm for such great promotion and participation, all those local businesses and retailers that supported us, the sponsors of the event programme and not forgetting all those other helpers and friends of Lions that assisted on the night.

We had over 150 entries with a superb standard of quality, design and creativity! Many of these designs can be viewed on our website. Congratulations went to the following winners:
School Prize Winners: 3rd Wilson Primary School, 2nd The Abbey Junior School and 1st Coombes (Church of England) Primary School.
Individual Prize Winners: 3rd - Sarah Soliman from Geoffrey Fields Junior School, 2nd - Phoebe Elkinton from Caversham Preparatory School and 1st - Saada Juma from Wilson Primary School.
The Reading Lions will use Saada's poster to help advertise their Fireworks event next year!
Individual prize winners had copy of their design enlarged and presented to them; a reminder of the event and their acknowledgement of their individual talent and creativity.
